Frequently Asked Questions

How does SnoreWatch detect snoring?

SnoreWatch uses YAMNet, an advanced audio classification model powered by machine learning, to identify snoring sounds in real-time. The model runs entirely on your device — no audio is sent to any server.

Is my audio data private?

Yes, absolutely. All recording and analysis happens on your device. Your audio never leaves your phone. We do not collect, upload, or share any audio data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How should I position my phone for best results?

Place your phone on your nightstand, about 30–60 cm (1–2 feet) from your head. Make sure the microphone is not blocked by a case or pillow. Keep the room reasonably quiet for the most accurate detection.

How long should I record?

We recommend recording for at least 10 minutes for meaningful analysis. For a complete sleep report, record your entire sleep session. The app is optimized for long recordings and uses minimal battery.

Will recording all night drain my battery?

SnoreWatch is optimized for long recording sessions. However, we recommend plugging in your charger during overnight recordings to ensure your phone has enough battery for the morning alarm.

What do the sleep quality scores mean?

SnoreWatch rates your sleep quality on a scale of 0–100 based on snoring frequency and intensity. Scores are categorized as: Excellent (90–100), Good (70–89), Fair (50–69), and Poor (below 50).

Can I listen to specific snoring events?

Yes! After recording, open the playback view and you'll see snore markers highlighted on the waveform. Tap any marker to jump directly to that moment. You can also pinch to zoom for more detail.

Is SnoreWatch a medical device?

No. SnoreWatch is a wellness and lifestyle app designed to help you understand your snoring patterns. It is not a medical device and should not be used to diagnose or treat any medical condition. If you have concerns about sleep apnea or other sleep disorders, please consult a healthcare professional.

How do I delete my data?

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete individual recordings from the History tab, or delete all data by uninstalling the App. No data exists on any server.
